Each year 2,000 runners take over the sand at the Pacific Beachfest 5K on the first Saturday of October. The half beach course is challenging, the beer at the finish line is cold and each year the tank top is a huge hit!
Since 2015 local artist Jared Lazar of Team Phun has been the creative mind behind the unique designs. The creative process typically begins with us giving Jared a loose idea on a theme for that years event and then his creativity runs with it! Much like us he understands the importance the swag is to race and each year he delivers with another tank top that we are bound to see all over PB.
Co-Founder and President of San Diego Running Co. Pete Hess loves to see the tank tops throughout the year in Pacific Beach. “It’s funny, Eric, Heather and I have a text chain where anytime we are out and about in PB and we see someone wearing one of the tanks we have to let each other know…and it is often!”

Due to COVID-19 the 2020 Pacific Beachfest 5K is going to look a little different than it has in past years, but the tank top is still sure to be 🔥!
