Course Reminder:

Half Marathon course has a 3-hour time limit. You must be able to maintain 13:45 per mile pace. We will have cut off points starting at Mile 7. If you cannot maintain the pace you will be moved up along the course and still able to finish the race and receive your finisher medal as your cross the finish line!

Road Runner Sports Craft Classic 5K Course Map

The fun doesn’t stop at the finish line. It is just getting going! All participants in the Half Marathon and 5K will receive a complimentary Green Flash beer. The ticket for the beer will be attached to the bottom of your race bib. Additional beers will be available for purchase in the Green Flash tasting room. The beer garden will also include classic tailgate games like cornhole & Giant Jenga as well as a food truck to get some post race grub!

Additionally, if you have to leave after you finish or are more comfortable getting a beer at a later date, your drink ticket will be redeemable at the Green Flash tasting room the rest of the year! Just make sure to bring your bib and drink ticket the next time you go to Green Flash!

Half Marathon

Parking – The Road Runner Sports Craft Classic Half Marathon is a point-to-point course meaning you will start 13.1 miles away from where you are going to finish! NEW to 2021, we have reserved a parking lot .75 miles away from the start line at Westview High School. At the completion of the race we will have shuttle buses that can take participants back to the Half Marathon parking starting at 9:15a and run every 30 minutes. Last shuttle will leave at 11:15a.

NOTE: THERE ARE NO SHUTTLE BUSES FROM THE FINISH LINE TO THE START LINE BEFORE THE RACE!

Ride Share – We also recommend you utilize ride sharing where you can be dropped off directly at the start line in the morning. Drop off location for ride share will be through the first light at Torrey Santa Fe Rd. off of Camino Del Sur. Special Event Traffic Controllers and Parking Attendants will help guide you to the correct location. Please be aware that traffic patterns are shifted in that area to accommodate for the start line.

5K

The Road Runner Sports Craft Classic 5K is an out and back race meaning you will start and finish at the same location in front of Green Flash Brewing. As in previous years, the parking lot located at 6450 Sequence Dr. will be available for parking. Reminder that cars are NOT ALLOWED to be left over night.

All participants MUST pick up their packet prior to race morning. No race morning check in will be available.

REMINDER: If you are picking up a packet for a friend you MUST bring a copy of their photo ID. A picture of their ID on your cell phone is also acceptable.

2021 Age Group Awards

2021 Craft Classic Half Marathon & 5K Awards and Age Group Awards will be distributed after the event to the following categories for both men and women: Top 3 Overall, 17 & Under, 18 – 24, 25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70 – 74, 75+.

You must pick up your awards after the event at the San Diego Running Co. booth in the vendor village!

What happens if the race date is changed or cancelled due to COVID?

• If the race date is changed or cancelled, all existing registrants will be given the option to run virtually, defer to the new date/2022 or receive a refund.

Will anything be different for the event due to COVID protocols?

• The health and well being of our participants is our first priority! We will follow all state and local guidelines for hosting a safe half marathon & 5K. These guidelines are very fluid and can change. So we will be working closely with local officials to ensure we are following the latest protocols on event day.

What is included in my race registration?

• All Half Marathon & 5K participants will receive the the official race shirt, custom finisher medal, race bib, chip timing and a complimentary beer from Green Flash Brewery.

Where is the start line?

• 5K Start Line is located in front of Green Flash Brewing at 6550 Mira Mesa Blvd. San Diego, CA 92121
• Half Marathon Start Line is located at the corner of Camino Del Sur & Torrey Santa Fe Rd.

Is this race chip timed?

• YES!

Can I have my packet mailed to me?

• You can have your packet mailed to you for $15. You can select this choice during registration.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

• YES, they’ll need to bring a copy of your ID (photo of your ID on a cell phone is fine)

Is this event stroller friendly?

• We do allow push strollers in the 5K, but we do not allow them for the Half Marathon. Please note if you are pushing a stroller we will ask you to start in a later wave.

Can I run with my dog?

• NO. Sorry your four legged best friend will have to sit this one out.

Can I walk the 5K?

• Yes! We gladly welcome and encourage walkers. Although there is no defined course cut-off, we ask that 5K participants maintain a 20 minute per mile pace to allow us to remain on schedule for road re-openings.

Will there be age group awards?

• YES, Age Group Awards of the following age groups: 17 & Under, 18 – 24, 25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70 – 74, 75+. Additionally the Male and Female winner of the Half Marathon will win their weight in beer!

Can I get a refund for my registration?

• Aside from a race date change due to COVID (see the first question above), all race registrations are non-refundable.

How does the referral program work?

• Log into your participant dashboard found HERE.
• On the top toolbar click “Promote” and open a new tab.
• Scroll down to the “Your Events” tab where you’ll have the option to Refer a Friend. You can share your personal registration link on social media or just copy the link and paste it in an email to friends and family.
• Every time someone clicks your link and registers you get the credit for being a promoter!
• But more important you get a $5 credit per registration from your link usage.
• The payout will happen every two weeks once a minimum of $15 is in your account.

How do I volunteer?
